About this event

Mozart’s comic opera follows servants trying to outwit their aristocratic employer before a wedding. San Francisco Opera presents it at the War Memorial Opera House, sung in Italian with English supertitles.

Ten performances are listed from October 31 through November 29. Some begin at 7:30 PM and others at 2:00 PM, with the Pacific time offset changing after the November daylight-saving transition. Tickets are advertised from $30, depending on the date and seat. The published duration includes two intermissions, and livestream tickets are distinct from an in-person booking.

Program

1. Mozart’s opera is sung in Italian with English supertitles. Sebastian Weigle conducts. Principal artists include Peter Kellner, Slávka Zámečníková, Olivia Smith and Thomas Mole.
2. The production places the servants’ wedding-day schemes in an early-American setting. Balcony OperaVision screens are offered for October 31, November 3 and November 7.

Public transportation

Civic Center BART/Muni and Van Ness Muni stations serve the Opera House area. The venue recommends allowing time for the walk from the station.

Before you go

Use 301 Van Ness Avenue for rideshare. Tickets are scanned before bag screening; a clear bag is not required. Bags should fit under your seat or on your lap, about 14 × 14 × 6 inches. Larger items require coat check.

Parking

The venue lists Performing Arts Garage at 360 Grove Street, Civic Center Plaza Garage at 355 McAllister Street and Opera Plaza Garage at 601 Van Ness Avenue. Fees and availability depend on the garage.
